2v per cylinder
This family of engines was progressively upgraded (with the latest technology in components and fuel injection systems) and perfected (improved performance, quality and reliability) since its conception in 1977. The engines had the inherent characteristics which epitomized the strong points of VM's design and manufacturing flexibility; whilst at the same time guaranteeing maximum reliability and robustness. With the introduction of the common rail 4 valve/cylinder engines, during 2001, the production of this family of engines gradually ceased and today is no longer available.
